A Comprehensive Range of Oral Surgery Procedures
Our dental office offers all aspects of oral surgery from removal of impacted wisdom teeth to bone grafting prior to dental implant placement. All treatment is prefaced with a comprehensive and clear consultation so the patient is aware of all treatment options and consequences. Communication between the patient and oral surgeon is the emphasis during treatment and any discomfort is dealt with immediately for a pain-free experience.
Tooth Removal
It is always unfortunate to have to lose a tooth. To make this as easy for the patient as possible, we offer a take-home package consisting of various homeopathic remedies to ensure a quick healing. A thorough debridement of infectious tissue and the tooth ligament always accompanies tooth removal. In infected areas ozone is used for its potent disinfection and oxygenation of tissues.
Platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) derived from the patient’s blood is recommended in almost all extraction sites. This concentration of platelets, white blood cells, and growth factors stops bleeding and accelerates the healing process often eliminating the need for invasive and expensive bone grafting. Patients usually heal faster with fewer complications and can have implants sooner with PRF.
Wisdom Tooth Removal
We always recommend wisdom tooth consultations as early as 16 years of age. Early removal is advised due to rapid healing, less post-surgery discomfort and less risk of complications. Lower wisdom tooth sites are particularly prone to developing dry sockets. A recent study using platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) showed the incidence of dry socket went from 10% down to 1% when PRF was used in this area.

Sedation
For anxious patients, we offer oral sedation with triazolam or lorazepam, drugs in the same family as valium. Nitrous oxide is also available.
Tissue Grafting
New advances in bone and gum grafting including the use of human growth factors now allow us to regenerate the jaw in ways previously considered impossible. Implants can now be placed in almost all cases, even where minimal bone is present through the use of guided bone regeneration.
