Dentistry With a Holistic Approach
A holistic approach to oral health emphasizes the role that good habits and preventative care play in enhancing your quality of life.
Did You Know? Your Oral Health Can Directly Influence Your Overall Health
The holistic approach is not just about using bio-friendly materials and delivering aesthetic results. It is designed to improve your oral health and, in turn, boost your overall wellness.
Research compiled by the Ontario Dental Hygienists' Association shows that dental conditions like cavities and gum disease can introduce bacteria to the bloodstream or airways, which can lead to serious health issues such as heart disease, stroke, and respiratory disorders.
Health Canada, The World Health Organization, and local governments all agree: "The public cannot be healthy without oral health."
As a member of the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology, Sam Paulos, Doctor of Dental Surgery, stays informed on the advancements in dentistry to give our Vancouver, BC, patients the safest care.

Let's take a more in-depth look at
the treatments offered at our practice.
Zirconia Dental Implants
At our Vancouver, BC, practice, we only use biocompatible materials such as zirconia in our dental implants. Zirconia implants are made from tooth-colored ceramic, so they are metal-free and offer superior cosmetic results.
Thanks to zirconia, patients will not experience any metal allergies or adverse reactions to metals, making it ideal for patients who may be hypersensitive to titanium. Since zirconia resembles natural tooth structure, patients will not have to worry about any potential metal exposure over time that affects smile aesthetics.
The high success rates and cosmetic advantages of zirconia make this option a great long-term treatment option for tooth loss.
Mercury-Free Fillings
The Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique (SMART) refers to methods used to replace amalgam fillings with tooth-colored composite and ceramic materials. Our team of dentists are SMART-certified.
We use a careful, six-step technique developed by the International Academy of Oral Medicine & Toxicology to safely remove amalgam from the tooth and replace it with a natural-looking, metal-free, white dental filling.
With the dental amalgam gone, patients will experience a healthy smile without any visible metal restorations. This helps even extensively restored teeth look natural and pristine.
Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF)
When performing oral surgery, our Vancouver, BC, dentists use platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) to stop post-operative bleeding and speed up the healing process.
PRF is a type of autologous blood concentrate that uses a patient's own blood that is spun in a centrifuge to separate red blood cells from plasma. The plasma helps promote better clotting and tissue regeneration during surgical recovery. Many of our patients have experienced faster healing through our use of PRF.
PRF is an improvement on the use of platelet-rich plasma (PRP). PRP is also derived from spinning a patient's blood in a centrifuge. For PRF, the blood is spun at a lower speed, which improves the composition of the plasma for patients recovering from surgery.
Ozone Therapy
Ozone therapy can help our dentists perform safer, more hygienic dentistry by killing viruses and bacteria found in the mouth. Our dentists can use either ozone gas or ozone-infused water to address the needs of the patient.
When treating periodontal disease, ozone therapy is an excellent tool for controlling the bacteria that causes inflammation. We can also use ozone therapy to sterilize incision sites in the mouth during tooth extractions and implant placement.
Our Vancouver, BC, dental practice is specially designed to support ozone therapy use, and we regularly sterilize our water lines with ozone.
Our 3-Phase Approach to Dental Care
Phase 1: Diagnosis
Our dentists and partnering doctors perform a series of tests to diagnose your health problems, build a custom treatment plan, and address urgent issues.
Phase 2: Treatment
Based on your diagnosis, our dentists will begin to perform treatments that address your oral and overall health issues. As comprehensive dentists, we are able to provide most of the dental care you need without referring you to outside specialists. From simple general dentistry procedures to complex implant dentistry cases, our dentists can do it all. If you need medical care, we can even connect you with a trusted medical doctor at Kinetic Patterns—a medical office located in the same building.
Phase 3: Stabilization
Once your treatment is complete, our goal is to prevent future issues. We will schedule a follow-up appointment to assess your health and treat dental issues before they require costly, extensive treatments.
